Description
The male Painted Bunting is one of the most colorful and beautiful birds and I thought that they represent Spring better than any other bird with their bright colors. This watercolor painting is of a male Painted Bunting in a Red Bud tree that is starting to bloom. He is happily singing his song, hoping to attract a mate.
I have been lucky enough to see these in my backyard on my feeder, but it is a rare sight. The red bud tree also is the first tree to bud and bloom, signifying Spring here in South Texas.
