Description

The best thing about a trail at the beach is it usually ends up at the water. Such is the case with this particular trail from the Monomoy Nature Preserve in Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It ends with a beautiful view from Morris Island out across Nantucket Sound. The trail varies from the wooded boardwalk to sand through a scrub pine forest. This bench at the curve in the trail provides a place to rest and contemplate in the lovely, natural surroundings.

Cape Cod is a peninsula in the shape of an arm off the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It is a popular summertime destination for its quaint villages, seafood shacks, lighthouses, freshwater glacier ponds, and bays and beaches. Visitors can board ferries in Hyannis and Harwich Port to cruise over to the Cape islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cape Cod extends from Provincetown at the northeast tip of the fingers to Woods Hole in the upper arm in the southwest. Chatham is located mid-Cape at the elbow.
