This was a fun painting. Inspired by a commissioned request for a 6 year old girl who loves paint horses. What young girl doesn’t love horses and pastel blue, pinks and purple? This idea came out of reflections of what it was like to be so carefree and young with a love of horses. I did the background (which doesn’t show up well in a photograph due to glare) with three colors and blended them together, then sketched the horse and decided to paint only the dark parts and let the background shine through.
