Description
"Loveland Pass Trail Colorado" by Catherine Sherman.
A trail in a meadow leads along the continental divide at Loveland Pass in Colorado.
Loveland Pass is a high mountain pass in north-central Colorado, at an elevation of 11,990 feet (3,655 m) above sea level in the Rocky Mountains.
The pass is located on the Continental Divide in the Front Range, west of Denver on U.S. Highway 6 (US 6). Loveland is the highest mountain pass in Colorado that regularly stays open during a snowy winter season.
The highway is steep, with a steady 6.7% grade, along with numerous hairpin turns on either side, make it difficult to snowplow the road regularly during the winter.

Catherine Sherman replied:
Thank you very much, Lynn! The trucks that are not allowed to go through the Eisenhower Tunnel (due to size or dangerous loads) use this pass in the winter.
