Can't Buy A Thrill is the debut studio album by the American rock band Steely Dan, released in November 1972 by ABC Records. (ABCX758) It was produced by Gary Katz and written by band members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. It was recorded at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles. Music critics and writers have described the album as upbeat rock style that incorporated mambo, swing, jazz and Latin musical elements.
The album was Certified Gold in 1973 and Platinum in 1993 by the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2003 Rolling Stone ranked the album number 238 on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Single songs of note on Can't Buy A Thrill include “Do It Again”, “Dirty Work” and “Reelin' In the Years”.
