2019 has been the year of the Buckeye Butterfly! I am thrilled to say that this year, I have been seeing these little guys everywhere I go in Columbus, Ohio. Being the Buckeye State seems that we should be filled with these beautiful creatures, but the past few years have been empty. I actually went several years without seeing one!

Some of these butterflies are kind of dull and easy to ignore. But! some are absolutely gorgeous! This little guy is very pretty even though he is a bit tattered. Luckily that did not affect his ability to fly away from me quite quickly whenever I got close enough to try to photograph him! I didn't mind. I was just thrilled to be in the chase again!
