Whenever there is a big storm during the day, I check the skies in hopes of seeing a rainbow. It is such a wonder-filled gift of nature each time I see one. So in life, I always look for a 'rainbow' after life's storms, but these are trickier rainbows to find! I don't always know what to look for. What will this rainbow look like? I am pretty sure that sometimes I miss seeing them completely, but sometimes it does dawn on me and I see my rainbow. It may be a friend, a song, a sign, or a kind act of a stranger. Whatever it looks like, it is always beautiful!

It is ironic, that sometimes I find the greatest beauty in life right after my darkest days. My mom loved the saying that "this too shall pass." She and my dad were both optimists and they built our family on a firm foundation of faith. I often wonder what they would think about what is happening in the world today. It seems a pretty dark and depressing time right now, but because of this, I have met some of the most amazing people of my life. They do not give up. They refuse to let the hatred and division get them down. They inspire me. We come to this place in time from so many differing backgrounds and faiths, but we are one in spirit. They have shone a bright light through some of the darkest days. I like to think of my friends, like these drops of water, hanging on, reflecting the light and together creating a thing of beauty to treasure! The sun is always shining, but sometimes it is just hidden behind a cloud. . . . and there is always a rainbow!
