Best Way To Get The Best Out Of Faa?

Hi Guys, as the title says I really would like to do well here. I currently upload to another POD site where I consistently sell (even during these strange times) and a well known stock site which is more editorial photos that sell.
What I am looking for is advise regards B&W photos - do they sell well here. I don't see many show up in the threads.
Default view for getting sales, regards Images, collections or shop?
I always link my images to other sites, comment and like and follow my Peers images. I've entered a few contests and seem to be getting a lot of views for the short time i've been here.
I really like the setup and how things work here so want to spend my time productively now work is looming.
What sells best, sunsets, people, places, blue skies, stormy skies?
Thanks In advance guys
Regards
Paul

everything can sell well if you can sell yourself. nothing and everything sells best. if you chase what you think sells best, you'll never find your place. upload things you like and they may catch on. decorators buy all sorts of topics, and the search sorts by how well you sell. so even if you had the items, you may never be seen. you can sell things off of contests but you have to enter often. your better of advertising your site in general.

Yes, but I used to own an ad agency so I have spent money advertising. However...

You should not waste money advertsing unless you fully understand the basics of advertising and have a decent budget to spend over sufficient period of time.

The is no need to.

I have seen thousands of dollar totally wasted by members here thinking a $5 ad here or a $25 ad there is going to make them some sort of decent return. It will not accept in a vary rare occasion where a few may get lucky.

Read the articles...

Best of luck to you.

Hello Paul

Uploading images on Fine Art America is half of the work. The other half is marketing. Fine Art America is a platform for artists and photographers to run their own businesses. The artists that are successful on Fine Art America do outside marketing to promote their work and we offer a handful of different marketing tools to help you e.g. Shopping Cart Widget, Email Campaign, etc. So I would definitely take a look at these features (found 'Behind the Scenes') to help get some sort of marketing plan in action.

Being an active member on Fine Art America is also a plus - we have a very large community of artists and photographers. 'Favouriting' images, leaving comments, participating in discussion forums, etc., are big ways to get your work noticed! I would also look into uploading more images.

We have over 7 million images listed on Fine Art America with any you have loaded, Paul, so if there is no marketing and promotion done on your end, your images will get lost in the mix. If you follow all of these suggestions you will appear higher and more often in the search engine.

We cannot tell why some sell and why some do not so we cannot give that kind of advice. However, here are some great posts on the forum and elsewhere about marketing your work. Please log in to view some of them
