Facebook Blockage

While trying to promote another artist on Facebook I received this message "Your message couldn't be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive." This is a complete mystery to me as I have not any controversy with anyone on FB. I only use it to post my own pictures and to promo others. The only time I post messages is on my personal page but as I said I have not had any controversy. This is either a complete mistake or someone is trying to screw with me. I have no idea how to get in touch with Facebook to get to the bottom of this. If anyone can guide me here I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Perhaps people have reported content of the artist you are trying to promote for some reason or other and FB have blocked them?

That's something I didn't think of James but I don't think that's it as the artist is new to FAA and the images are not controversial.

Facebook is becoming a place of too many changes

I cannot share to my page from others on FB now UNLESS I use the pages app, which I hate

If that artist posted something that was reported to FB, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If FB does not like it, it will not be allowed.

FB is trying to stop false new as well as other abuses on FB. They are trying to do it by writing algorithms to make the decisions instead of using humans.

I posted a photograph of a dog one time and FB blocked it and said FB does not allow animals to be sold on FB. I had to appeal it to get it approved. Apparently, someone reported it as abuse of FB's rules against selling animals. They thought I was actually selling the dog, not a photograph of the dog.

someone tried posting to me and instead it went to messenger. that makes little sense.

you can complain about things, it sometimes changes, not often though.

phyllis goes through that every time she posts an image of animal, they all think its for sale. i think facebook is trying to be too many things at once and are forgetting what it was really originally about.

This is a result of them over reaching in their attempts to shape public perception.

As Floyd said, "They are trying to do it by writing algorithms to make the decisions instead of using humans." AI is not as intelligent as we may think.

Or is that what they want us to blame it on?

There is all of sudden a big buzz and a lot of hype about AI: Artificial Intelligence. It is merely reinventing a new word or buzz-word or phrase for computer programing. Same thing with an algorithm. Look at the definition of Intelligence. The term Artificial Intelligence is an oxymoron.

But I think you are correct Glen when it comes to certain things. There is no doubt that they are making a big effort to control the content, including using human oversight, of specific topics.

Zuckerberg diffidently has an agenda.

Yes a little strange.

I posted from my pixels site to Facebook an image of a yellow rose.

And the next day I got a message from Facebook talking about abusive image .
I was completely baffled.
So I ignored it.

And later posted it again and went through fine .

If it happens again though I will contact them to ask what's the problem as there shouldn't be one.

One of the questions I asked was how to contact them because I don't know how. Angela and Floyd you indicated you had contacted them. If you could give me the how to I would appreciate it. I plan on doing nothing for a couple of days and if I am still getting the message contact them then.

Have you tried a different image to share?

I posted a painting of roses on a Facebook page of mine. I boosted the post. It was rejected because it violated their obscenity standards. I appealed, with a complaint included. It was denied with no explanation. I believe their computer interpreted the roses as breasts. I assume my appeal was rejected by a human and rejected by that person because of the complaint I included. This was all done via replies to an original e-mail from their computer. If I knew how to complain to an actual employee, not a contract labor person, I would do it.

I shared my experience with my personal Facebook friends. Then when I posted roses paintings after that, one friend would comment "sexy!" 😆

I rarely give Facebook money anymore. The integrity of their results and oversight of that integrity is non-existent, in my experience. I get one share immediately, and it can't show me who shared it, due to privacy settings. Then I get likes from fake accounts, which could all belong to the account manager (independent contractor), who then makes sure I get the follow-ups about the success of the ad, and how I can boost it again, etc.
And the real accounts who like... those people rarely align with the target profile details I specified. Most of the real accounts come from people who could not afford to buy a mug from the dollar store, if they had such a store at all, and when I look further, either they work for Facebook or one of their friends does.

I have no idea how to contact them. The really are not interested in too much direct contact with users. When they blocked the image I mentioned above they sent me a notice with a link to click on if I wanted to dispute their claim. It was just a form to fill out and explain when you disagreed with their blocking the image. It took several weeks and they said the image had been posted.

Corinne, that is an outrage! Computer misinterpreting roses as breasts? And the "sexy" comment? It's actually funny, but yes, stupid. Shows some bot put that comment there, and I think you're right... bots are most likely putting Likes too, just to dupe us into thinking we're getting real people likes.

I don't use FB.... I have two accounts, but don't use them. Lately all FB is about is MONEY. Mark Z. is getting his butt sued off, and needs to make money in all areas of the site. And unfortunately, he has been shown to be a deceptive person. That's another reason I don't use FB. Our number one trauma center here in San Francisco is the Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.... he got his name added because he donated a lot of money a few years ago. BUT, the directors want to take his name off, and don't want to be associated with him now, for obvious reasons. I just don't like anyone or anything that has been shown publicly as using deceptive practices (Cambridge Analytics security breach).. and gives a feeble apology written by an expert.... and then keep drumming up more deceptive practices to scam money from people. Ugh! Makes me so angry!

Yes Joy- It's a shame that it can't be trusted. There should be some auditing done by the company. Since they don't have a way for us to report this kind of thing, and some unknown computer and contract worked can stifle an ad and there is no recourse, it's an imbalance of power, against the advertiser.

I must clarify, the "sexy!" comment was from one of my friends, as a joke. After I had figured out why my painting was likely deemed as portraying nudity ( I remember now, the message from Facebook did say nudity), I shared the experience with my actual friends on facebook. I showed them the painting. I didn't bother stating what I thought the roses were mistaken for, just that it was rejected for showing nuduty. This friend was then just teasing, when I posted more flowers. It was funny.

I think it was this one. Another one was rejected also, but when I responded with the appeal they offer (maybe it's called a manual review), that one was approved. I think this one was rejected on appeal because I was angry in my remarks when I requested the review. Again, too much power given to that contract worker and their mouse.

Yes, then...your friend commenting "sexy" is funny! lol I must say that 19 breasts in a bouquet... well, I'd like to know that bot's frame of reference!

Allen that happened to me last week when one of my facebook followers comment a photo I shared from flickr somehow it reported as abusive and could not share any more . I contact this person and asked her why she said she only post a comment "beautiful" and did not report as abusive. We figure maybe someone has hack into her account so I contact Facebook about this and the next day the block was lifted but no respond from Facebook now I think it must be some bugs at their site.

Allen Beatty

Alfred, how did you contact them ? So far no one seems to know how to contact them unless it's to respond to a form Facebook sends.

Yes, Jessica I tried a different image and it did not get through. The only thing that is getting through at the moment are my own images to my personal or business account. I can't even send one of my own images or anyone elses to anywhere but my own account.

Allen when you go to your facebook page on the heading (in blue) there is a icon (?) which is call quick help, click on it will open some options I used the one "report a problem" to contact them.

A very dear friend's daughter, now in her 30s, is a big animal nut. We hate the puppy mills. Facebook had to stop anything associated with puppy mills. That is much of the online selling of animals.

The daughter is shifting her focus to MeWe.com. But there are two big drawbacks to MeWe, first the puppy mills will be there, then second, NOT discussing politics, but the maturity level of the policies are literally non-existent. Which is at least just as bad as FB, if not a lot worse.

The other problem for the daughter as a pet food supplier of sorts, mice for snakes, MeWe wont have anyone, but animal selling people to animal selling people. This is not a reason for anyone to go to MeWe.

Again not discussing politics, I will not go to any SM with an immature policy on this. Or at least any more immature than FB and Twitter.

The hurdle in SM is getting over 50 million accounts. Many have gotten close, but failed.

Thanks Alfred. Just got the same help from another person also. Will give that a try. Currently, I can't even post to my own account. This is getting ridiculous.

Thanks to Alfred and Judy Whitton who told me how to contact FB my problem seems to be solved. Everything is back to working normally. They didn't communicate with me but as I said everything is again working normally.
