Yelena Koehn was born in Moscow, Russia.   When she was 4 years old, her family relocated to Aktau, Kazakhstan.   This small town by the Caspian Sea became her home.   Yelena attended Aktau Art School which involved 5 years of intense training in drawing, sculpture and painting.   In 1998 she enrolled in Aktau State University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Marketing.   At this time, Kazakhstan’s economy was still recovering from the fall of the USSR and foreign investment increased oil field production.   It was at...more
