I'm Tonya Woodbury Sloan from the United States of America. My artist name is Ms. Woodskies, The Prayerful Artist. I am an artist, painter, photographer and a writer of poetry and prose who appreciates the different forms of visual art. I want to thank you for your initial interest in a few of my favorite forms of art expression and for taking time to read a little about it.
Many of my art pieces are inspired by faith through prayer and I am thankful for the blessing of being able to combine art with a life of faith.
For example, my Poetic Phraseology Photo Art is inspired by faith and also the different aspects of life experiences, its surroundings, visual ripples and the eventual contemplative/reflection that may follow. The lens, images, fused with scripture, prose and/or poetic verses are an applied expression of that reflection. I appreciate that the application of the camera lens captures much more than just an image, but a moment worth remembering, pondering, and sharing with gratitude the blessing of the experience.
Artwork from my other collections consists of traditional art mediums, such as oils, acrylics, watercolor, soft pastels, oil pastels, inks, charcoal, and graphite. These collections are also fused with original poetry & prose narration, encouraging phrases and biblical references. The chosen text narrates or supports each individual art piece to invite the viewer into the moment . The compositions convey a specific mood and sentiment, respecting the subject matter, complimented by faith, even within the 'title only' pieces. These works of art are formed through prayer, deep contemplation and a great love of art.
I am prayerfully adding more pieces to my collections to hopefully encourage you in faith, as I also am encouraged.
