The shapes of light and shadow inspire me, the edge of light that defines the outlines of a silky fur coat, the glow of light through flower petals, the highlight that adds the spark to a beloved pet's eyes. The personalities of pets and their relationship with their owners, I find quite interesting. The small, the beautiful, the fleeting, I want to capture and enjoy a little longer.
Watercolor and oil. I enjoy painting in both mediums, because each one brings something different to each subject. I am challenged to switch my strategy each time I approach a painting.
My formal education and degree was a BS in Graphic design. I really respond to good design and still strive to incorporate these principles into my work.
I am always delighted when someone else responds to my work and it is an honor to know it is being enjoyed in their home.
