'It all begins with a white canvas.
When I start to create, time seems to stop. I play with paints, touching the canvas, and I involuntary plunge directly into an absolutely new world. The painting begins to live its own life, it sets the color of the palette and dictates the rhythm of the subject.
Most of my works are done not only by my paintbrush and palette knife, I also use my hands to the utmost, rub paints up on linen coarse canvas by my palm, shade the tones and overflows of color by my finger-pads. And so the canvas comes to life, it as if it’s 'breathing,' broadcasting not just a subject image to a viewer, but transmitting special energy, my inner world, my way of looking at ordinary, one would think, simple things and objects, and at the same time as beautiful, delicate and genius as our entire Universe.'
