I have been drawing and painting as long as I can remember and for years I was a realistic painter, I still love to paint realism and I am always captivated by the natural beauty all around us. In the last few years, I have grown a taste for pushing the envelope in my work and I am constantly experimenting with new techniques, new materials in my work, and now I am finding ways to use these things in my realistic work as well.
I have been working on developing several series, things that I see all around me, things that I feel about what I see. I have come to the place where I want my work to be a statement, or statements about the human condition in all aspects. At any rate I am working in mixed media these days, I am so enjoying the experimentation that it has become the main part of the process for me.
I am just exploring whatever takes my fancy and sparks my imagination and if that changes...I want to go with it, I just want to enjoy the process and be free to express how I feel. I don't want limitations in my work put on me. One thing I will never be satisfied with is....sameness, painting the same theme, subject or technique over and over. That may be ok for some artists but not me.
