Life is a full circle, and you often end up at the very spot you started. That's what happened to me. Here's my story...
I had an amazing childhood...with everyone at home connecting to Art in their own way. Mom a homemaker, was a watercolour artist who loved painting flowers and composing poetry. Dad an engineer by profession, had a passion for sketching to the beats of Mozart. And my sister, a talented jazz ballet dancer with a fabulous voice. My thing was to 'use my hands to create colorful stuff'.... with paints, with beads...anything crafty!! My inspiration has always been COLOR.. Colors speak to me, they fill me with positive energy and make me happy.
Whilst art was an integral part of my family life, I was guided to believe, that a good education comes first followed by a successful career, and art is to be enjoyed at home. So I became a state topping student, and then went on to spend 18 years of my life building a career, in a multinational company, where I grew to a senior leader heading a huge operation. Somewhere along that road, art stayed just as a weekend pursuit.
Until over two years ago, when my circumstances changed my life completely. I moved out of the corporate race, and out of a long term relationship. I needed something to heal my heart and begin afresh. So I picked up my paint brush and began to paint, and I haven't stopped since.
I chose acrylics on canvas as my medium because of the vibrant colors. I paint from my heart and get so involved that I completely lose track of time. That's why a quick drying medium is perfect for me.
Painting has now become my life. It is a deeply personal, cathartic, meditative, joyful and spiritual experience. I let my soul guide my brush. It's almost as if I become the medium through which my art creates itself. My inspiration comes from both external and internal sources. I love taking photographs of nature, flowers, animals, sunsets, people and places ....anything that pleases my eye...and I use these images for inspiration. Sometimes ideas flow in whilst meditating or dreaming and I feel compelled to pour my inner world on to my canvas.
I enjoy sharing my art with people through social media and via public exhibitions. I feel blessed and grateful that people are appreciating and buying my art and my paintings have found homes amongst local and international collectors.
My vision is to flood this world with positive energy, beauty and joy through my art. I want my art to inspire hope, love, passion, peace, balance and harmony in the hearts and souls of people.
And that's my story.
