I've been involved in making art in one form or another all my life... from painting and drawing to collages and ceramics. Most of my corporate working years were spent as a facilities planner and graphic designer.
When I 'retired' several years ago I bought my first DSLR camera... a Canon T3i (I've now upgraded to a T7i) and decided to make photography my primary form of creativity. Photography gives me an excuse to explore with a purpose. When I'm walking around with my camera I am really 'seeing' as opposed to merely looking.
As much as I enjoy taking photographs, perhaps my favorite part is the post processing. In the past I had some experience working in a darkroom. It was very exciting watching my black and white prints emerging from those stinky chemicals. That feeling (and smell!) can never be replaced with a computer. But I don't want to go back to those days either. Manipulating my photos in Lightroom and Photoshop gives me the opportunity to express my unique vision just as if I was using a paint brush. Whether merely a subtle change or a major makeover, this process makes my photos truly personal.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you will come back to my site on a regular basis as I will be uploading new pieces at least once a week.
