ARTIST'S STATEMENT I am an artist, not a poet.   So let me paraphrase what Helen Merrell Lynd once wrote, 'Our whole life is an attempt to discover when artistic spontaneity is whimsical folly, or when it is a valid expression of our deepest desires and values.' ARTIST'S BIO In 1990 Ron York opened Local Color Gallery as a source for his design clients.   One year later he picked up a paint brush and never put it down.   As a self-taught artist he works in acrylic on canvas or board in a colorful and whimsical style.   Now that the gallery has been sold he is pursuing art...more
