I paint my art looking for the smallest detail in nature, details that go unnoticed, like the detail in a bird's feather. On the other end of my imagination I paint something zany and colorful, like a dog wearing big wide red glasses. I never grow tired of creating art! I use acrylics, oils, watercolor and mixed media. All my paintings start on canvas and from there I develop my other forms. Using high quality archival inks and paper I make the different sizes that go into my creations. This gives an affordable way to own a piece of art and creativity. I started doing art as a small child. My dad 'Big Walt' as we lovingly called him, was an artist who taught and encouraged me. With his love and guidance I went on to win awards in school, finished college and attended every workshop I could afford, to learn more. I have always made a living from art...sometimes not much, but I have been blessed with folks that collect and appreciate my lifelong journey centered around art. In my other life I became a Registered Nurse and somehow managed to do craft shows and sell to local stores to help support my family. I left nursing, studied art at Tampa College to work full-time to create and make art. It's been 25 years and it has been a great adventure. I have two great daughters and two grandchildren that help keep me on the path of looking at life with whimsical eyes. I have lived all over the the United States and settled in beautiful Beaufort, NC. I love to paint, garden, make soap and pottery.
