My husband and I and our two sons are natives from Washington, DC and lived most of our lives in the Northern Virginia area. After retiring, my husband and I moved to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. We have been in South Carolina since 2008.
In 2000, I became interested in photography and when living in Virginia, I belonged to several camera clubs, including the Manassas Camera Club, Gaithersburg Camera Club and Washington’s National Zoo Photo Club. I was also co-founder of the Virginia Digital Photo Safari.
I have exhibited my work over the years in many venues in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC, Charleston & Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. I have won numerous awards and was published in the “Digital Photography Magazine,” “Washington Gardener” and “The Best of Virginia Artist and Artisans” magazines.
I am member of the Mt. Pleasant Artists Guild and the Charleston Artists Guild and past member of the Carolina Nature Photographers.
Even though photography has been a passion for many years, I am now also interested in painting, I have taken some lessons and am trying different mediums, such as acrylics, oil, and most recently pastels. I love the richness of the oil paint, but find that I also like the blending the colors on the paper with the soft pastels.
I use my own photographs to paint from and occasionally paint plein air.
