After my apprenticeship at an advertising studio in Munich and short spell in Austria with a postcard company, I was offered a job in Ireland. Again, postcards were on the menu and the doors to the world were thrown open wide. I dreamed of cheap whisky, hot geysers and a little adventure. Wrong. Very wrong indeed!
