Lucky enough to have lived in the Lowcountry for 18 years, I spent hours wading through the marsh. I stood on our dock and tried to capture the wildlife as it flew overhead or swam beneath. I became acquainted with a few dolphin. I was visited by many tolerant pelican, blue heron and egret. I spent hours studying the top water, and hours approaching a great blue heron until he was five feet away and prepared to pose. I have patiently and faithfully learned to, 'Be still. Be quiet. Wait for it.'
