As a youngster... art was something I did for fun...it just came easily to me...like putting on my socks.
Studied oil and water color painting in New York City... at the School of the Streets.
Started painting portraits ... in the 1980's... when a portrait of one my bosses... elicited an ear to ear smile from 'old sour puss' and resulted in a raise. The light bulb went on... and I was 'of to the races'...so to speak.
I'm a water-colorist...inspired by John Pike, Norman Rockwell, Dean Mitchell and Eliot O'hara.
Changed my palette a number of times... and today Transparent Watercolor is my muse.
Today... I sell about 2 to 4 paintings a week. Good and quick is my motto.
Commissions...'take a number' and satisfaction is guaranteed.
When I'm not painting - Active Water Color Workshops fill my calendar.
All paintings in my galleries are original works by Marsden Burnell.
