Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1949, Mark Junge showed early artistic promise when he completed his first series of works on the living room -- executed in crayon on wallpaper, much to the chagrin of his mother!
He has lived most of his life in California where he accumulated degrees: a Master and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology with minors in chemistry and zoology, a Bachelor of Art in art and an Associate of Art in liberal arts. These pursuits reflect his interest in both science and art which he brings together in his paintings.
Mark’s influences include painters such as Jacob van Ruisdael, Claude Lorrain, and the Hudson River School artists, particularly Thomas Moran and Frederic Church.
