Recently relocated to the northeast, Lourdes SIMON studied art, music and theater in Miami, Spain and Puerto Rico. She has showcased her paintings in San Juan and in the Tampa Bay area. Themes in her work include cats, landscapes, angels and saints.
Cats by SIMON Series
Most felines in this growing series were born in Puerto Rico. The initial litter was exhibited at the Miau Miau Motel in San Juan, in 2006. They’re an offering to Poeto and Blanquita who have been friends and companions in my life and in my travels and who’ve taught me much about what it’s like to be a cat, what it’s like to be human, and what it’s like to be here. Their warmth, trust, honesty, instinct and love keep me sound. I'm more playful, perceptive and compassionate toward all beings, the world, and myself for having known them. To animal lovers everywhere, I hope my CATS bring you as much insight and joy as they continue to bring me.
