Lisa is a classically trained fine artist specializing in colored pencil paintings of automobiles and motorcycles, along with botanical, figurative, and landscape/seascape paintings in Water-media and Oil. She exhibits and sells her work on-line, and her paintings can be found in regional and national shows. Her work is found in corporate and personal collections internationally.
A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids Michigan, she graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Illustration. Lisa is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), and is a member of many other artist societies.
Lisa has been called the 'Queen of Colored Pencil' for her application of Colored Pencil lends the look of oil painting with the detail of pencil work. Her vision and passion are evident as she explores the complex relationships of shape and color in her subjects. Lisa has a command of chrome, form and reflection that is indescribable. She is also the recipient of many awards, and gives private lessons in dual medias.
Her current body of work encompasses a variety of butterflies and botanical compositions in watercolor, acrylic, and oil mediums. Through her personal encounters, at botanical gardens and from specimens within her garden, she creates a myriad of interest for these delicate and fragile subjects. She will continue exploring this subject as she composes her next show to include the fascinating birds and dragonflies of Michigan.
