I have come a long way the last couple of years, as far as my art is concerned. I guess I made a conscience decision to focus on what I wanted to be known for. My father was an artist as well. He enjoyed pencil, sculpting, and oil painting, and in my opinion was very good at it. My goal was to be as good as he was, because being better would be impossible.
I hail from the Lone Star state, on a farm about 10 miles outside the city limits. I grew up with all kinds of different animals as my trusty companions. And when I needed escape, the woods next to our home was the perfect place to be. I rode horses, I had secret trails and magestic oak trees to confide in whenever I needed a minute, or just wanted to sit and relax.
I am fortunate to have this freedom as a child, and it is what keeps me going and sustains me as an adult. It has given me a respect for nature, and has nurtured in me a wild heart which can never be tamed. Sometimes that works for me and sometimes it doesn't.
