BIOGRAPHY:
John’s creative drive evolved while growing up among artistic family members in Venice, Florida. John has sketched and painted throughout his life and after a successful career in the corporate world; he departed in 1996 to focus on his art. He has attended selected art classes at the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College, as well as many seminars. Part of the educational process was a six-week tour of Europe visiting most of the major museums to absorb the essence of art history. John is active in the art community: he is founder and current board member of the North Tampa Arts League, has been a board member of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and is a member (past chairman) of the Artist Advisory Committee. John currently works out of his North Tampa studio daily.
PROGRESSION TO CONTEMPORARY REALISM:
For the first seven years of his art career, John studied famous artist who painted realism in the bravado style. From that point, John created abstracts and focused entirely on artistic fundamentals. Currently, John’s work combines his experience of painting realism with the free flow style of abstracts. These Contemporary Realism paintings are usually very loose images of scenes that his clientele can relate to. The objective is to create work that is intriguing as well as appealing. The beauty is in what the viewer constructs in their minds eye and the creativity is in the suggestion of reality rather than the rendering of it!
PERSONALIZED FINE ART:
Since formally beginning his art career, John has won many awards and has art in client’s homes through the West Coast of Florida as well as some foreign countries. However, John’s real forte is working with clients. John will work with the client to create that personal pieces of art that fits the style, size and color of the client’s environment.
