My first childhood memory is pretending to live on a farm. I loved all the animals that lived in my imagination as a farmer. Since those early days, my love of animals, nature, and rural life have dominated how I live my life today. I enjoy the companionship of a dog, horse or cat and I need to surround myself by nature, far away from the hectic pace of cities.
Those choices have influenced my photography. It’s my intention to photograph my subjects in their natural surroundings. A horse standing in the rain, a dog sleeping in the sun, a fielded tractor or a meadow of wildflowers is what inspires my creativity. I try to convey the real story of my subjects, how they live with the elements of weather, nature and solitude. In my photography, I’m committed to capturing equine and rural life images. I hope to preserve this lifestyle through photographs so others can enjoy the quiet beauty that being in the country, near nature, or enjoying our animal friends can do for the soul.
