Like many others, I grew up feeling like art was a secret club that you had to be born into. It felt like it was none of my business. While snobbery and pretention do exist in the art world, I learned that most of that was in my head. I remember walking through the Louvre, in 1996, thinking that it would be a dream come true to be able to be an artist.
