A canvas, paper, or some odd surface calls to me when feelings of stress, anxiety, or elation swirl within my head, and it beckons me to purge dormant emotions. Art has been a form of therapy through the dynamic and sometimes unconventional nature of my life. Prompted by a wide range of musical styles, I allow my body and brush to act as mere vessels in a meditative projection of emotion. This process allows me to create uncompromisingly honest works that illustrate bold visual maps of my inner sense of triumph and defeat. Utilizing the often atypical technique of working on the ground, focusing mainly on the use of acrylic paint, I project my raw, subconscious experiences onto the canvas by passionately manipulating color, using drip work, creating texture and working with seemingly erratic form with the hope of connecting to a self often denied on the surface. Each work is a journey with a destination often unknown- much like life.
