I grew up in north Louisiana and have always loved birds. After I retired from teaching, I became a full-time birder. I enjoy visiting local refuges and sharing picture of my finds. I live on a lake so there are many opportunities to take pictures of birds here in my backyard. I am an active member of the Avicultural Society of America which supports education and breeding of endangered species. I have visited the Galapagos and India, taking pictures of beautiful birds. I am saving for a trip to Vietnam to see the Broadbills. The Stellar’s Eider is currently my favorite duck and the Long-tailed Broadbill is currently my favorite passerine. These favorites tend to change as I learn about more birds.
