I began to draw the beautiful horse at age 4.
My favorite subject was art in school.
I got really excited to learn how to do oil paintings in High School.
At age 16, my painting “Forest Rider” won first place in the Northern California High School Art competition.

Earlier, at age 10, I had a small epiphany while laying in a Spring meadow on Mount Hamilton in California.

It was a warm Spring day and the meadow I laid in was all a flutter, fluttering with butterflies, colorful dragonflies,
birds and ladybugs.
Add to that a humongous array of wildflowers bursting with colors from the soft grass around me
and further on.

Add the white puffy clouds scuttling through the deep blue sky,
Bird songs singing.
It became the day I got bit by the 'love for nature' bug.

It all brought a feeling of peace and excitement at the same time.
There grew a slow burn in my soul.

The road up to the top of Mt Hamilton was a twisty and long, narrow road.
I was grateful my mom took the time to take my sister and I there that Spring.
During this trip, my mother, being a wildflower expert, gave us all their names.
She knew each wildflower by heart. Somehow their names became stuck in my mind.
I don't know why, we have been camping, seen lots of mountains and beauty before,
but for some unknown reason,
the nature bug got me and I shall never forget that day.

It all seemed the meadow had stability or structure, yet was overrun by wild surprises.
I believe now this is all brought to us by the greatest Artist of all, Our creator God.

While I paint I love how darkness interplay's with the light to create shadows, different shades, different colors of warmth and coolness.
There are dark shadows that create impressions of barely known forms, and bursts of light
and colors
bringing to the main subject(s) moods of their own.
I hope I can bring feelings and reflections from the moods in my art, without the words.

In my Gift Cards section, there are many cards
Some do have words, some don't
and inside the card you yourself can express your own.

the main subject can be enchanting
which I hope will bring a person to gaze a little longer, hoping it can speak to a single person
or more.

Maybe from another time their was an experience and my art will bring up those fun memories of, perhaps camping, hiking, or horseback riding.
Or perhaps bring up a memory of
joy, love, romance or solitude.

I am Hoping I can bring to visitors a pleasant escape for a few moments while browsing through.
What there are: paintings out of oil or acrylic, photography, and many gift cards.
You will also see flower bouquets, garden art and my cat KIKI.

I have designed and grown gardens to try and create scenes with color, textures, and perfuming the air many scented roses.. I had hoped family and guests would feel they had a small vacation in our yards.
I hope you enjoy my art and thank you for visiting!
