Darlene Van Sickle loves animals and bold color.   She likes to paint large animals like moose, horses, elephants, donkeys, giraffes, and pigs.  Through her art, she imagines a conversation with the animal and tries to capture and convey what she thinks the animal is thinking.   She hopes the animal's spirit and personality come through in her paintings.   Darlene also appreciates strong, hardy flowers.   She arranges them in stilllifes with her favorite things and paints them in vivid, bold colors.
