Christine Blodgett is a self-taught artist capturing the spirit of realism through pencil drawings. Chris’ propensity for creating works of art can be traced all the way back to her childhood, where she frequently displayed a natural gift for drawing, beginning with a drawing of the Last Supper which was six feet long and carried around for an entire summer while camping-Much to her father’s dismay. Using the simplest of mediums, a mechanical pencil, Chris is now in her forties and began offering her work to the public on a part-time basis in 2011. Now residing and working in Kansas City, Mo, her work features an improved level of quality and detail which few artists ever achieve. Many thanks to Lee Hammond and her wonderful classes. Chris’ achievements have been a direct result of not only her natural ability as an artist, but her personal commitment to artistic excellence and tons of encouragement from family and friends. With her consistent focus on continued success and personal growth, Christine Blodgett is one artist whose work is sure to be drawing attention both now, and in the future.
