Art is in my bones... and I see it in my family too. My grandmother, mom, brothers, sons and grandkids all have that artistic ingenuity. I think you can always look around and see something beautiful to behold. From a young age, I enjoyed drawing and painting so being self taught and then going a step further, I worked to receive an Associate's Degree in Art. But I really think that the artistic expression comes from within no matter how much training you have. When you look at an artists works, there always seems to be a pattern or style of some kind. It's almost like their own individual fingerprint.
My expression spans from gardening, to photography, to painting and mixed media. I even see art in the canyon of a dry riverbed so I collect fossils and rocks as art in my yard! That's what I try to convey, whatever a unique and colorful visual can bring to your senses which makes you appreciate its existence and availability to admire. I love architecture but my heart belongs to nature.
Here you will find a variety of subjects and scenes from the simplest view of a seashell on the shores of South Carolina, to the surreal rocky landscape of Fountain Valley in Colorado. When you look at my images I hope you will enjoy the moment captured in time. Some images will even tell a story if you think about it, like the old wooden structure at Bug Tussle, Texas. You can imagine how folks used to gather around the porch and visit with each other, and as the story goes, watch the bugs tussle!
