While we lament the passing of Cathie L. Tyler Gwyther on July 13th, 2014, we celebrate the joy and beauty that she brought to all of us during her lifetime. She was a generous soul and had a very caring heart. The collection on this page is her original works and proceeds will be donated on all future purchases to several charities that she designated before her death.
Gwyther, Cathie L. Tyler 40 Feb. 10, 1974 July 13, 2014 Cathie was born in Bellevue, Wash., with sparkling blue eyes, soft red hair and full of energy. She became an adored sister, and sometimes partner in mischief at age two with her new brother Jay Jay. She loved to spend time with Auntie Irene shopping or playing outside. Cathie enjoyed learning in school through the age of 13 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Cathie moved to the Seattle area for high school, graduating from Peninsula High in Gig Harbor, Wash. She took floral design, working in retail arranging. Later she took up photography and became successful in combining the two arts in CreationsByCathie, an Internet business. She moved to Portland in 1993. She met David Gwyther nine years ago and they married Oct. 30, 2009. She became David's partner in both his business and political endeavors. Cancer cut their loving relationship short. Cathie is survived by her husband, David Gwyther; grandfather, Butch Kent; mother, Eileen Grennan; siblings, Jay Jay Duval, Christopher Kent and Tara Kent; goddaughter, Mya; aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
