Wood carvings and photographs of the work of Bruce Peterson, show unquestionably he is one of the best folk carvers in the northwest. A lifetime of working in the outdoors has given him a unique ability to create carvings that are truly a reflection of his experience in nature. He lived it, he loves it, and he knows the outdoors like only someone can who immersed himself in it for years. Each carving becomes individual, an heirloom carving that will be cherished forever by whoever holds it. One wonders, what part of the process he likes better? Is it the journey of carving the decoy, or is it looking at his finished product? There is a peace about him as he carves, and we all hope he will keep on carving for years to come.
