Beverly Klucher

Beverly Klucher is prolific in the field of Oil Painting. Her areas of interest are landscapes, coastal scapes,
portraits, and spiritual themes. For over 40 years working as a professional artist, Beverly has sold her original
oils to private and corporate collectors, exhibited her work in galleries throughout the Eastern United States,
does commission painting, and has taught workshops in the fundamentals of oil painting to groups of all ages.

The artist is originally from Portland, Oregon. The daughter of a Naval officer afforded her the opportunity
to travel extensively as a child. She embraced the rich experience by creating, with simple tools like pencil
and chalk, images of her young journey. The talent was obvious to those around her, and soon Beverly
realized the importance of pursuing her love of art.

A Fine Arts honors graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, plus graduate work in Landscape Painting
from The Maryland Institute of Art, created a solid foundation for Beverly's technique. The fluidity of light in
her impressionistic brush stroke, draws attention to a sense of calm in the moment
Today, Beverly and her husband live in State College, Pennsylvania, geographic center of the State. Her
studio is bright and welcoming, with paintings in various stages of development surrounding the viewer.
Her home sits in this high valley with views of the smooth ridges of the Appalachian Mountains at the
artist's doorstep. Many of the pastoral scenes you find in her work come from this area. But her longing
for the East Coast is realized every year with trips to Cape Cod or Florida and anywhere in between. The
edge of the ocean lends itself to small plein-aire paintings where spontaneity and immediacy of the brush
is crucial to success of the art form.
