Born in 1959 in a small town somewhere in Poland. Graduated from History of Art and English in Poznan. Her life has been always devided between art and teaching English. Her passion for painting and drawing resulted in some exhibitions of her paintings. Started with oil paintings of people , landscapes, flowers, finally has fallen in love with birds. Also a belover of dancing , espacially flamenco, which she finds full of fire, erotism and passion. Her birds express her desire to feel free. Flying somewhere and seem to be just flying, the birds have stood for a marvellous symbol of freedom. Not quite realistic they are connection of dance and this sense of freedom.
Barbara Szostak is also interested in fashion and creating one's own style covering one's personality. She has benn teaching English, art, visage and style.
