I began growing roses a few years ago, which led me to visit local rose gardens to see different varieties and how they were being propagated. I started photographing the roses to have comparisons to my own roses for the purpose of becoming a better rose gardener but soon began showing up at rose gardens, camera in hand, trying to get that perfect shot of the perfect rose. Before long, I became just as hooked on photographing the gardens and the wildlife their as I was on the roses I was growing. I still grow roses (and just about anything else flowering that I can find space for) but have discovered a real love of photographing the incredible natural beauty I find in the gardens.
Although my photography is largely for my own pleasure, I enjoy the idea that someone else might want to see the images I have captured.
