Angela has had a love for photography since about age 12, when she inherited her dad's old SLR. She is self-taught and enjoys the challenge of learning new techniques. Her passion for nature photography increased greatly when she discovered and began to appreciate the great outdoors years later.
Her goal is to capture nature at its most beautiful, be it a majestic landscape or a close-up of a flower. She also photographed a great number of the courthouses in her native state of Kansas. This was an exciting project for her, taking her many places she normally wouldn't have visited. (It was a good geography lesson, too). Now that she resides in Colorado, she hopes to start photographing courthouses here as well. Old barns, ghost towns and other abandoned structures are also a favorite photographic subject.
Angela has won numerous awards at local photography contests, and two of her photos, Rocky Mountain Fog and Faux Falls Sunset, were featured on Outdoor Photographer's 'Your Favorite Places' web gallery. She has been awarded 'Editor's Pick' awards from Nature Photographers Network for her Onondaga Cave photo and several others. She has also been published in Colorado Life Magazine and Kansas! Magazine several times. Many of her photos have been featured in the Colorado National Monument Association's annual calendar, which is one of the fundraising items for the Colorado National Monument Association. Angela has exhibited photos at Aspen Photo Art Gallery (Grand Junction), Steamboat Art Museum (Steamboat Springs), Gallery at Studio j (Denver) and has exhibited a number of images in conjunction with the City of Grand Junction's art displays at City Hall, Two Rivers Convention Center and Tiara Rado Golf Course.
