Hi, I am Don Nelson, a Mississippi watercolor artist whose works focus mostly on quiet southern scenes and flora.   Before moving to Mississippi, I grew up in the flat delta plain of northeast Louisiana surrounded by miles of soybean, rice and cotton fields.   Early summer mornings were punctuated by the sound of a distant cotton gin and the lonely call of a mourning dove.   White wood frame houses and stately pecan trees lined the quiet streets in town.   Many of the homes were built by my grandfather, a carpenter there for many years to support my grandmother and their twelve...more
