Patricia Adams is presenting the art of Jacob Lawrence, Gwendolyn Knight Lawrence and Alger L.   Adams, her father.   The Lawrences and Adams' were friends over the years and bonded while fueling Harlem's 1930's renaissance.   Jacob Lawrence (1917- 1998) was the most widely acclaimed African-American artist of the 20th century.   He is best known for his Migration Series recently exhibited at MOMA.   Westchester Graduation Ball was the cover of an invitation to a gala sponsored by the Adams' and friends in 1951 for African American graduates of Westchester County,...more
