Much of my work revolves around the mountain west and high deserts of the Great Southwest. I love the lure of the natural beauty everywhere, whether it is the next bend in a remote canyon, a mountain ridge or in the eyes of the people I photograph; capturing the captivating influences around me is a constant quest. With a keen vision for anticipating the weather's mood for the day, I keep my senses focused toward chasing the drama of changing light.
The presence of a photograph carries the viewer to a place, a thought, an experience, a wonder, or something they are familiar with or long for. Stimulating the senses, a photograph can ignite the viewer's perceptions and open most to reflect and appreciate this beautiful world.
This is the basic philosophy of my art: The perceived viewer is often in my mind while I am on location and visualizing the emerging scene before my camera. We capture moments in time to spur our own imagination and creative self, but also in a light for our image to be admired by others.
