My siblings and I were all familiar with a paint brush before we could walk or talk.   My father, artist James Cassidy, encouraged us to decorate the walls of the house as children, with paint, leaves, shells and whatever else he could salvage.   Art and creativity were normal parts of our lives and something we probably took for granted.The career I pursued, after graduating from University College Dublin in Ireland with a B.A. was in the areas of community development and education and I have always used creative arts; painting, crafts, music, drama, film and storytelling, as tools in my work.In recent years I...more
