In the artwork of Monica Morales the space is color, just as in the Mexican school of modern architecture, one of its great inspirations. This architectural character of several of his compositions is also influenced by Gehry’s forms. Without a doubt, as far as abstraction is concerned, the artist’s stains remind us of some of Lundeberg’s scenes, since they are so minimal, so smooth, so geometric, so spontaneous, so widespread and yet so profound. They seem to be made with a single brush stroke, without hesitation, distractions, exaggerations or pretensions, they are simply natural. Each is a colorful field, like Frankenthaler’s art, with its own aesthetic, radiating both warmth and coldness.
