JLGallery considers herself a representational artist using abstract techniques. She creates artistic images that bring brightness, joy and fun into the world. She enjoys experimenting with color, textures and paint. She wants to surprise the viewer and take them on a visual journey. To begin, she imagines herself as part of the painting to get a feel of where it should go. The subject speaks to her in color. Nature is her favorite subject, especially animals. Her painting style is a big experiment with water and acrylic using a watercolor technique. At times she paints with only acrylic and leans towards representational images. Her colors are pure and not muddied.
She also took up photography mainly to photograph her paintings and found joy in photography as well as painting. She alternates between the two mediums. Her colors are strong and clean in both painting and photography.
