Rarely do I see a waxing gibbous moon. The waxing gibbous moon rises after noon and sets after midnight. We are able to see more than half of an illuminated moon, because the moon is between a 45 and 90 degree angle to the Earth and the Sun. I stopped in midtracks to take image of the moon against this blue evening cloudy sky with the streets lights in the foreground.
