Title
Swirling Lava- Hawaii
Artist
Patty Donoghue
Medium
Painting - Acrylic Painting On Paper
Description
I painted this piece in total admiration of the texture seen in Hawaii. The Big Island, a volcanic creation, left these swirling and some times, intensely jagged lava formations. On any beach we encountered, climbing over or on these rocks was part of accessing the water. During the winter months, on the Hilo side of the island, these rocks and rough waves, can limit water access. It does not seem to deter its admirers though. In this scene one can view the tiny figure of people, and an umbrella dug into the sand for a day at the beach. The clear water is worth the risk. If one can snorkel, they are quickly rewarded with sea life galore. I am most humbled to get to visit these glorious sea shores, and hope to honor her beauty in more paintings to come. This one is was painted using acrylic paints on paper.
