Description
I joined the 5-day challenge starting September 6, 2021 and the theme for this challenge was “Architecture”. Here is my Day 4 – A view of a modern building in Dallas along the LBJ Freeway. I captured this viewpoint which represents a wedge of the angled corners of the structure. I liked that the corners were distinct in a severe manner and that the slight Dentil molding of the front of the building brings interest to the smooth and flat facade. The dark windows making stripes around the building are more prominent in the black and white editing I rendered, giving this image a minor abstract appearance.
There are several styles of Modern Architecture especially in the United States. Starting in the 1930’s this style incorporates sharp and clean lines. Mid-century Modern is one of the most known of the movement. Other modern designs include building materials using steel, concrete, iron and glass as well as asymmetrical shapes.

I love that my mind wants to see the hard vertical line as a trim line of the building photo. Plus the extreme contrast. Great!
